The Lawns And The Club

The lawns were originally made many years ago in the existing beautiful gardens for the benefit of the weekend guests to the large house that used to stand there.   We store our equipment in the original stable block which is now called Ridleys Court.   During the time the building was a school the lawns were used for tennis.   These were then returned to their original use by the Council 22 years ago and the Crawley Club was formed.   The lawns are mowed and fully maintained by the Council.

Ridleys Court

The Club has two full size lawns which are sometimes split into four half size lawns and a smaller practice one.  The current membership is about thirty.

We are affiliated to the Croquet Association and more information about the game and the rules may be found from their website www.croquet.org.uk   We have the distinction of being the only club in North Sussex, the next nearest club being at Preston Park, near Brighton.  The Club plays against other clubs in the South East.   We have visits from other competing clubs and players from many different parts of the country and overseas.

You will find Milton Mount Gardens in Milton Mount Avenue, Pound Hill, Crawley, RH10 3DY.   Click here for link to Streetmap.
